Markdown Support

Oinks are usually plain text with simple formatting (newlines, URL links and images, YouTube players), but you can also use Markdown syntax to add richer formatting.

When an oink starts with “#md“, it enables Markdown formatting:

Code

Inline `code` has `back-ticks around` it.

inline-code

To produce a code block in Markdown, simply indent every line of the block by at least 4 spaces or 1 tab:

    This is a code block.

code-block1

Or just wrap your code in ``` and you won’t need to indent it by four spaces:

```
function test() {
  console.log("Markdown is a text-to-HTML conversion tool for web writers.");
}
```

  1. Hi Daisuke, I am having fun with Oinker. But I can’t figure out how to link to the local computer. Can’t get the file:/// method to work?! Thanks, Steve

    1. Hi Steve,

      Thank you for using Oinker!

      Most modern browsers will not execute a file protocol link from within a http page for security reasons.

      I’m working on a new feature to upload files. I hope it meets your needs.

  2. OK, thanks, I’m sure it will! So then I guess the uploaded files (I’m thinking images mostly in my case) will be stored on Oinker servers?
